Debate Club

Debate meets each Friday to help students to develop listening and thinking skills, as well as competence in oral communication. The debate resolutions vary throughout the year. One week a team may debate whether Bob Dylan is more influential than the Beatles. The following week a team may be debating the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. Throughout the year the Debate Club engages in exercises to sharpen critical thinking skills. They also take weekly news quizzes and discuss current events.  Membership is open to all classes.
