Clubs and OrganizationsDominican/Student Preachers
Each summer students from Dominican high schools internationally are invited to participate in the Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference that is held at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan during the last week of June.
Workshops and other events at the conference encourage young men and women from Dominican schools to share their faith through their individual talents of dance, art, and social action. They learn to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a variety of ways.
- Building a community of new friends
- Discovering how we are all called to preach the Gospel message in our own unique way
- Exploring preaching in art, music, dance and drama
- Reflecting on the "Signs of the Times"
- Learning about the origins and mission of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans)
- Praying and sharing faith
- Putting preaching into action
When students return to school, they are members of the Student Preachers team. They meet two times a month before school to pray together and to support each other as they preach with their lives for all to see. They help to plan prayer services and liturgies and provide periodic reflections for the Rosary community.
In the spring of each year, sophomore students are invited to complete an application to be considered for the conference.
