Drama Club

Drama Club is another extra-curricular activity and meets after school. Open to all Rosary students, Drama Club presents two shows each year--a Christmas play and a Spring Show. Drama Club gives the girls the opportunity to learn about theatre arts, stagecraft, directing and producing live theatre. The girls learn about acting through skit exercises as well as by reading scripts and watching examples of live theatre.

Long before saving the earth became a global concern, Dr. Seuss, speaking through his character the Lorax, warned against mindless progress and the danger it posed to the earth`s natural beauty.  This classic story is just as important today as when it was originally published 40 years ago, and the Rosary actors will bring it to life on stage.

Combining characters and plots from over 15 Dr. Seuss stories, "Seussical, Jr." is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza!  The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.

General admission seating is $5 and can be purchased in advance by calling 630-896-0831 x32, in person at Rosary High School during regular school hours, or online(a 50¢ surcharge per ticket applies to online order)

Performances will be held in the McEnroe Auditorium at Rosary High School, 901 N. Edgelawn Dr., Aurora 60506 on Friday, April 20 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 pm and Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 pm.
