Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is an Honors Club for students who not only enjoy mathematics but also like to be with other students who enjoy mathematics. It is a National High School and Junior College Club. Rosary`s Chapter has been in existence since 1988.

Members meet on Thursday mornings (alternating with NHS) at 7:30 AM in room 103. Meetings consist of "FUN" activities involving mathematics. These activities are usually done in groups or pairs and involve "prizes" for work done well.

Because it is an Honors Club, members must hold a "B" average in their math classes, pay their $10 dues, uphold the rules of Rosary HS, be in their 5th semester of high school mathematics, and attend the meetings regularly to be formally inducted and receive the club membership card. (Students not in their 5th semester of high school mathematics can participate but not be formally inducted until they fulfill all the requirements.)

Inducted members receive a certificate at Candle Rose and a seal on their diploma if they continue to follow the club requirements. Attendance is important and the 3rd unexcused absence warrants expulsion from the club.
