Suzanne Quinn ('15) Completes PhD at Loyola Chicago

Earns doctorate in Integrative Cell Biology from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine
Rosary graduate Suzanne Quinn (’15) earned her PhD in Integrative Cell Biology from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in May.

Her PhD research was focused on TCR transduced T cells for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer), focusing on how T cell function was augmented with TCR expression and T cell physiological states. She successfully defended her PhD in February.

During her time at Loyola, Suzanne presented at international conferences, including in Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Italy, as well as domestic conferences in Chicago. She won second place at Loyola’s St. Albert’s Day Research Symposium Oral Competition in 2025, and second place at the 3MT competition this past February. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that challenges graduate students to explain their complex research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes, using only a single static slide.

Suzanne earned her undergraduate degree in 2019, graduating Honors Cum Laude from Loyola with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular Biology"

At Rosary, Suzanne was a St. Catherine of Siena Scholar and an Illinois State Scholar. She participated in choir, musicals, French Club, Marmion Rosary Band, and Color Guard.

“Rosary not only provided me a strong foundation in the sciences, but also helped me believe in what I can do,” she said. “Showing up in scientific spaces was made easier because of the confidence that Rosary helped build in me.”

Suzanne has accepted a position in Medical Affairs at Becton, Dickinson and Company.
