Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
Rosary College Prep seniors Isabella Rocush, of DeKalb, and Kaitlyn Schuhler, of Montgomery, have been named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®).
This honor is based on scores from the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
Rocush and Schuhler are among more than 16,000 students nationwide—less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors—to earn this distinction.
Both are now eligible to apply to become a finalist and compete for National Merit Scholarships next spring. Finalists are determined by academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, honors and awards received, recommendations, an essay, and SAT® or ACT® scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
