Rosary Welcomes New Faculty and Staff for 26-27 School Year 

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to welcome new faculty and staff who are committed to our mission and our students and ready to contribute to our community.
New Faculty 
 
Mike Adams, Social Studies Teacher/Head Swim Coach 
Coach Adams joins Rosary following a distinguished career at Naperville Central High School, where his teams earned multiple state championships, sectional and conference titles, and more than 100 High School All-Americans. His exceptional coaching experience and dedication to student development will be a tremendous asset to our Beads Swimming program.
 
Ailed Dueñas, Spanish Teacher 
A native Spanish speaker, Ailed is passionate about sharing her language and culture with others. She believes that learning a new language opens the door to meaningful connections, new perspectives, and greater confidence. In her classroom, she fosters a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and celebrating their progress.
 
Katie Kelley, College and Career Counselor/Freshman English Teacher 
Ms. Kelley draws on her past experience as part of Northwestern University’s admissions team to provide firsthand knowledge of the college admissions process to Rosary students and families as they prepare and plan for life after high school. In addition to developing individualized four-year plans for each student, she also coordinates college representative visits, career exploration opportunities, parent programming, and events that help students make informed decisions about their futures.
 
Ireri Miranda, Spanish Teacher
Originally from Mexico, Ireri lived there for 15 years before moving to the United States.She graduated from Aurora University and has experience working with students as a bilingual teacher assistant. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where students feel supported, valued, and confident in themselves. As a Spanish educator, Ireri hopes to help her students see Spanish as more than just a language, but as a way to explore different cultures, connect with others, and discover the many opportunities that come with learning a new language.
 
Mary Sutarik, Campus Minister and Theology Teacher
Mary’s faith started to become the core of her life during her time in Holy Cross’ youth group in high school and only grew while attending Loras College in Dubuque. IA. Mary then went on to serve as a college missionary at Northern Illinois University and Grand Valley State, helping students learn about the beauty of being Catholic in the modern world. Mary’s adventurous heart has also led her to India, Mexico on mission, and to northern Spain,  where she completed the Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrimage. Mary hopes to bring her personal faith experiences, missionary heart, love of theology, and heart for women in the modern world to Rosary.
 
Larry VanMersbergen, Music Director and Graphic Arts Teacher
With more than 30 years of experience in music education, fine arts leadership, and higher education, Larry’s wealth of knowledge and creativity will enrich opportunities for our students both inside and outside the classroom.
 
Dr. Jocelyn Woods, Biology Teacher 
Dr. Woods brings a Ph.D. in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, undergraduate and graduate-level teaching experience, and a passion for inspiring the next generation of women in STEM to Rosary’s sciences department. An experienced researcher, she conducted behavioral research at Brookfield Zoo’s Center for the Science of Animal Care and Welfare, studying a wide range of species from gorillas to pangolins.


New Athletics Staff 
 
Tom Nichin, Athletic Director
Tom is entering his 23rd year in education with extensive experience as a teacher, coach, and athletic leader. Most recently, he served as Assistant Athletic Director, Head Girls Basketball Coach, and English teacher at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights. While there, Tom was named an Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Girls Basketball Coach of the Year after leading his team to conference, regional, and sectional championships and an Elite 8 finish. A former NJCAA Academic All-American at Morton College, Tom also holds a master’s degree in sport psychology.
 
Dave Luna, Head Varsity Basketball Coach
A familiar face to our Royals community, Coach Luna served as our Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach and Head JV Basketball Coach during the 2025–2026 season. He brings an impressive background in player development and coaching, including certification as a basketball trainer, IPT Trainer, and USA Gold Coach. His experience, energy, and vision for the program will help continue to elevate Rosary Basketball.

New Institutional Advancement Staff  

Julie Lerch, Director of Fundraising and Donor Relations 
Julie brings extensive experience in fundraising, donor relations, communications, marketing, and event management, with a career dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations grow through meaningful relationships and community support. A lifelong Aurora native, Julie is excited to return to the community where her story began. She is passionate about connecting alumni, parents, donors, and friends with opportunities to strengthen Rosary’s mission and invest in the future of our students.
 
Stephanie Wennmacher, Director of Communications and Marketing 
A proud Rosary alumna, Stephanie is thrilled to help tell the story of a place that played such a pivotal role in hers. After playing three sports and graduating as co-valedictorian of her Rosary class, Stephanie went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English from Augustana College and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University, both with highest honors. She has built a 25-year career in higher education marketing and communications, working to increase brand awareness, enhance institutional reputation, and drive enrollment and engagement across audiences.
